메디안 치약, 가습기 살균제 독성물질 발견..식약처 회수

시중에 팔리고 있는 일부 치약에서 가습기 살균제에 쓰인 독성 물질이 사용된 것으로 나타났다. 식품의약품안전처는 이 치약을 회수하기로 했다.

회수 대상 제품은 아모레퍼시픽이 제조하고 판매한 메디안 후레쉬 포레스트 치약 등 모두 11종.

이 치약들에 가습기 살균제 독성물질인 클로로메틸이소티아졸리논과 메틸이소티아졸리논, 즉 CMIT와 MIT가 쓰인 것이다.

CMIT/MIT는 페인트나 변기세정제로 사용돼도 피부염이나 비염, 기침을 유발하는 위험 물질.

아모레퍼시픽 외에도 애경과 코리아나화장품, 서울화장품 등 국내외 업체 30여 곳에서 같은 원료 공급 업체의 계면활성제가 납품됐다.
